Ancistrus sp.
Several species of the bristlenose are sold in commercial outlets under a confusing
variety of names. Mature males can be distinguished by the presence of long barbels
on the head. Ancistrus browses encrustant algae. The female deposits her eggs on
carefully selected sites, though captive breeding is rare. Size: 13 cm.
